It is time to review the most significant horological accomplishments of the past year. The results of the jury awards of the largest watch shows in Germany, Austria and Switzerland were recently announced. They included a selection of prestigious top watches (GPHG being by far the most important). Munich Time and Vienna Time have both honoured the best timepieces across six categories. These include Discrete charm, Best Luxury Ladies's, Classic Elegance and Sport Dynamics. The most significant category is Big Complication. Both exhibitions had similar results in terms of the winners. Both shows' juries selected the Omega Replica Watches as the best in the main category. A.Lange & Sohne Datograph auf/Ab was chosen twice as a runner-up. The jury in Munich chose Chopard L.U.C. for third place, the prize for most significance.Replica Watches Lunar One was chosen by the Austrian jury, while IWC Schaffhausen Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar top gun piece was selected by the Austrian juror.
Although both shows took place in November, the awards for the best timepieces were announced in December. The two events are the biggest watch shows in their respective countries and take place in venues that are more than 1,400 metres. Since 1996, the show in Vienna has been held annually under the patronage "Die Presse", a specialized magazine. This year, the partnering event in Munich celebrated its fifth anniversary. Comme the German event was the first chronologically, we will start with the watches awarded in each category at the Munich watch show.
MunichTime AwardsDiscrete CharmThe Discrete Charm award recognizes the best watch under 10,000 Euros (nearly 13,200 dollars). The jury of the watchshow in the Bavarian capital selected the recently presented Nomos Glashutte Orion 32 Rose. This elegant ladies' timekeeper features a pink dial that is galvanized, silver-plated and has a small seconds counter on the bottom. The face of the watch, which features gold-plated hands, is protected by a sapphire dome. Nomos Glashutte Orion 33 rose is equipped with a three-part stainless case (32.8mm wide by 8.54mm thick), with an exhibition back,breitling chronomat b01 replica watch and paired up with a beige Velour strap. Alpha manufacturing caliber is the beating heart of this timekeeper that has the most discrete charm. The movement has 17 jewels and Incablock shock-protection. Erwin Sattler Regulateur Classica Segunda Medium is the runner-up of this category. This timepiece is based on a model from Erwin Sattler, but it is presented in a smaller size with a diameter reduced from 44mm down to 38mm. The Regulateur Classica Segunda is a medium-sized timepiece from the Munich brand. It features a manually wound ES 02 calibre with a deadbeat seconds complication, where the second hand moves at increments of 1 second. This allows for an interesting way of displaying the time. Separate indications for minutes, seconds and hour are provided. The central hand shows minutes while the hours, seconds and subsidiary dials are displayed on subsidiary dials. This model, which is housed in a stainless-steel case with a clear caseback and has a 42-hour power reserve, costs around $1,800.
